How to plan the perfect Christmas party
With Christmas just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about celebrations. A Christmas party is a great way to get all your loved ones together and get the festive season started in style. Planning a party can be stressful, so we’ve put together a guide to have the perfect night.
Set the date
The sooner you can set a date and send out the invitations, the better. Remember that Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone and everyone’s calenders end up filling up fast. Get things organised so you can invite people as soon as possible to maximise turnout. It also gives you more time to plan and execute a great night.
Before making any purchases, draw up a budget. This will most likely be different depending on whether you are having a cooperate office party or smaller gathering. Either way, it’s important to understand how much you have to spend and what you need. Using a spreadsheet is an ideal way of visualising your budget and recording what you’ve planned. If you are part of a team or planning with another person, it also means you have a universal place where all spending can be viewed.
Plan the venue
A venue can make or break a night. Take into account the location, size and staff before booking anything. Having friendly and helpful staff makes all the difference, especially if it’s a larger party which can be stressful. A venue with flexible rooms which can be adapted to your needs is perfect.
Decide whether or not you’ll be serving food at your party. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a sit-down meal. A buffet with all the party favourites is easier and gives people something to nibble on during the evening. You can choose mini Christmas picks like Yorkshire puddings, canapes and mince pies. Enquire about food options at your venue and see what sort of things they offer. Some venues allow you to bring your own food so get some more information before making a decision.
Dependent on the location of your venue, it can be helpful to have some onsite accommodation for your guests to unwind after the night. This way, if people don’t want to travel, they don’t have to. During the festive season, guests are likely to want to treat themselves to a luxurious room for the evening.
Above all, if you’re planning a party, make sure you enjoy it. It can be easy to get caught up in the planning and focusing on the guests and forget to have fun yourself. You’ve put time and effort into the night and you deserve to have a great time. If you’re still looking for the perfect place to celebrate, look no further than Milton Hill House.
